Position TaglineThis position gives opportunity to work in NICU at the John Hunter Children’s Hospital. This site offers exposure to all aspects of Neonatology and the opportunity to gain a wide range of experience in well supported environment. The tertiary referral and teaching hospital include is dedicated to provide quality care and clinical services to thousands of patients each year.
Where you'll be workingThe Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at John Hunter Children’s Hospital in beautiful Newcastle, is one of the largest and busiest NICU’s in NSW. This 43 bed unit provides Intensive Care support for newborns requiring medical and surgical care in the HNE and Mid North Coast area. You will join a dynamic, passionate team of Health Professionals, in a newly refurbished, state-of-the-art Unit, with the latest health care technology. We are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable, skilled staff who are committed to providing excellent family centred care
What you'll be doing
The role will be given protected research, education time and there may be opportunities to rotate through retrieval and other services to fulfil training requirements, including developmental and outpatient perinatal experience.
- MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
- 5 years post-graduate experience with a minimum of 12 months experience in Neonatal Intensive Care.
- Commitment to and requirement for further training in Neonatal Intensive Care.
- Demonstrated confidence and ability to function independently as first on-call.
- Demonstrated procedural, communication, team work and decision making skills.
- Demonstrated teaching ability and commitment to teaching and supervision of junior medical and other clinical staff
- Experience in or demonstrated interest in research.
