Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor in Forensic Science

This role is a fantastic opportunity for an academic in the discipline of Forensic Science to actively contribute to our strategic growth plans in the School of Mathematical and Physical Sciences . Headed up by Prof. Claude Roux , The Centre for Forensic Science (CFS), within the School, already has a significant international reputation and we are looking for an enthusiastic and hardworking researcher to join our high performing team. While candidates from all areas of forensic science are encouraged to apply, we are particularly seeking applicants who can contribute to one or more of the following key areas:

  • General forensic science
  • Forensic biology
  • Criminalistics / physical evidence
  • Forensic imaging, including microscopy and photography
  • Crime scene examination

As the successful applicant you will have:

  • doctoral qualifications or equivalent experience in an area relevant to Forensic Science
  • a demonstrated ability to teach (for appointment at Level D demonstrated excellence in teaching) within a higher education context
  • high-level analytical ability, as demonstrated by the capacity to solve important and/or difficult problems in your chosen area of research.
  • a demonstrated (for appointment at Level C nationally recognised; for appointment at Level D internationally recognised) track record of research excellence
  • a demonstrated ability to teach (for appointment at Level D demonstrated excellence in teaching) within a higher education context
  • a record of success (for appointment at Level C/D) or the capacity for success (Level B), relative to opportunity,  in securing nationally competitive research grant.

Remuneration

Base Salary Range: $96,992 to $151,341 pa Level B/C/D

This role attracts 17%superannuation in addition to the base salary and salary packaging opportunities.  The university is a family-friendly workplace and offers employees a wide range of work options including flexible work practices, work-based child care centres, generous parental leave and support for staff with carer responsibilities.

This appointment will be on a continuing, full-time basis, but flexibility can be considered.
