We offer an exciting opportunity for a Research Officer ($67,010 - $89,541) to join our world-leading institution at James Cook University (JCU). A full time, fixed term appointment to 31 December 2023, this position can be based in Townsville, Cairns, Mt Isa or Lismore. Fractional appointments may be negotiated for the right person.
What you can accomplish in the Role
Would you like to work with a great distributed research team working collaboratively to improve the health of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Mums and Bubs? Come and join the Women’s Action for Mums and Bubs (WOMB) project. This community-based participatory research project aims to improve the quality of Indigenous Primary Health Care in maternal and child health (MCH) through implementing and testing the effectiveness of participatory women’s groups in engaging with MCH audit data and improving service quality and outcomes.
What you will bring to the Role
As someone who is passionate about improving the quality of Indigenous Primary Health Care you will demonstrate experience in health research, particularly in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander primary care. Utilising your strong communication skills, you will engage effectively with a wide variety of stakeholders, including Indigenous community organisations, government departments, academics and field researchers. enjoy working in a multi-disciplinary, collaborative team.
