Clinical Trials Assistant

  • Fixed Term, full-time for 12 months with possible annual extension and base salary $73K p.a plus superannuation

About the opportunity 

We are looking for an enthusiastic Clinical Trials Assistant to join the Perinatal and Neonatal Clinical Trials Team on one or more clinical trial projects in women and child health. This team works closely with investigators and hospital staff to coordinate large multi-centre studies that change practice and improve outcomes for pregnant women and premature babies.

You will be responsible for performing general and trial-related administrative duties to support the Clinical Trials research team, under the direction of the Project Manager.

Your daily tasks will include preparing trial documents, maintaining records, data entry, updating and collating materials, responding to queries, and exploring and sourcing solutions for NHMRC CTC trial team, managers and central services, as required.

You will require strong communication, administrative, and organisational skills to coordinate and undertake a range of operational activities on an ongoing basis.

  • Bachelor’s degree or combination of equivalent experience and/or education/training in Clinical Trials
  • demonstrated experience in basic clinical trials administration or experience in a similar field
  • basic understanding of GCP guidelines and protocol requirements for clinical trials
  • demonstrated understanding of the research project life-cycle
  • well-developed data entry skills and excellent attention to detail skills

The successful candidates will have knowledge of clinical trials administrative processes. They will also have excellent communication skills, well-developed interpersonal skills and organisational skills.

The NHMRC Clinical Trials Centre at the University of Sydney conducts large multicentre investigator-initiated clinical trials, takes part in trials of national and international collaborative trial groups and contributes expertise to trials run by others.
