About the opportunity 

The Senior Project Officer is responsible for providing project management support to multiple work streams within a multi-faceted program of work, including establishing project teams, developing and implementing project plans, managing project financials and preparing status reports in line with broader project governance requirements. The incumbent will manage multiple work-stream stakeholders and communications, ensuring effective collaboration and team work with other project teams and stakeholders across the University.

In this position, you will:

  • provide support and project management advice during project organisation and establishment
  • manage the development and implementation of multiple work stream project plans
  • implement project governance and reporting procedures to monitor project delivery
  • build relationships and manage communication with each project’s various stakeholders.

We are looking for a Senior Project Officer (Strategic Implementation) who possesses: 

  • tertiary qualifications and/or relevant work experience, preferably in project management and administration
  • experience project managing multiple work streams, or working in large complex projects and ability to work according to strict deadlines and manage various demands
  • experience managing a diverse group of key internal/external stakeholders on large or complex projects
  • numeracy skills together with experience in controlling income/expenditure for reconciliation/budget tracking, and managing invoice payments and purchases for a project
  • strong communication, analysis, planning and organisational skills.

There will be a number of projects working with the University wide finance and IT units, so the ability to work on these type of projects (e.g. disaster recovery replacing computers and piloting of Office 360) would be highly regarded and we are interested to hear about this aspect in your application.
