This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified teacher who is deeply committed to quality in delivering Aboriginal Education across all sectors, focusing on classroom to whole of organisation outcomes.

We are looking for someone who has teaching and professional learning experience in Aboriginal education across all teaching levels from Early Childhood to High school settings.

The role is based in the Gold Coast region but will involve local (QLD) and interstate travel.

Primary purpose of the role

Lead, Manage and deliver Deadly Ed’s offerings across Australia. You will coordinate and deliver our range of student education programs across a range of age groups including ECE- year 12 & university students, and teacher professional development offerings. 

Key responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain a suite of Aboriginal education program offerings, along with company policies and procedures.
  • Create new culturally appropriate programs that address curriculum and/or specific student and community needs.
  • Promote and build awareness of our programs across the Queensland region, increase school/students’ participation numbers and represent Deadly Ed within the education community.
  • Manage your time to connect with all current and prospective education program partners, customers, and educators, whilst expanding our network and building our school education program partner/client base within Queensland.
  • Assist the leadership team with ideas, opportunities, and partnerships for growth in education programs.
  • Develop and purchase culturally appropriate resources to support student learning.
  • Manage, recruit, and retain a team of casual Aboriginal educators across a variety of programs and locations.
  • Operate all programs within given budgets and timelines.
  • Deliver frequent Professional Development courses across various locations to allow all educators to achieve their professional development goals & requirements in Aboriginal Education (AITSL)
  • Build and maintain open and supportive communication with educators.
  • Manage internal and external reporting requirements efficiently, providing updates to the leadership team frequently.
  • Communicate learnings, information of interest and/or research around Aboriginal Education and professional development to education sector audiences through events, conferences, online and media.

Essential Requirements

  • Aboriginality is an essential requirement for this role. The role has been identified as an Aboriginal role in accordance with the provisions of Section 14 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977.
  • Hold a Diploma/Bachelor in Education/Teaching (This can be in any - Early Years/Primary/Secondary).
  • Exceptional self-motivation and sense of responsibility.
  • Teaching/program delivery experience within the ECE-12 range.
  • A current & valid Working with Children Check
  • Drivers Licence & Vehicle.

Note: This role must be able to travel interstate, and ideally be based or able to work out of our Gold Coast office. We work in a Hybrid model. 

Experience

  • Have lived and professional experience in Aboriginal Education. 
  • Relevant teaching & professional learning delivery experience in a Primary and/or High School setting
  • Knowledge of the Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL) teaching standards and the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) – in relation to Aboriginal Education
  • Excellent Leadership, people and time management skills
  • Good level of knowledge of curriculum/syllabus requirements for education program delivery.
  • Highly effective interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with people from all education levels.
  • Excellent liaison, negotiation, conflict resolution and team building skills across a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated high level capacity to initiate, develop, evaluate, and coordinate education programs planning, monitoring, and reporting practices to drive improvement.
  • High-level ability to manage multiple commitments within tight time frames.
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of the various educational sector needs regarding Aboriginal education for students and staff.
  • Experience in the delivery of student education in outdoor settings.
  • Experience in managing casual staff; rosters, recruiting, communications and appraisal.
  • Teaching/Education qualifications essential. 

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $80,000 - $100,000
