We now have an exciting opportunity for a experienced and knowledgeable Research Compliance Officer to join our team. This parttime continuing role (18.12 hours per week) is based at our Townsville Bebegu Yumba campus in picturesque tropical North Queensland. Remuneration is $83,115 - $90,022 (pro rata) per annumplus up to 17% employer superannuation contributions, leave loading and other generous employee benefits.

 

WHAT YOU CAN ACCOMPLISH IN THE ROLE 

In this role, you'll play a pivotal part in safeguarding the University's reputation by offering expert guidance on research integrity policies, procedures, and compliance with various regulations, including Defence Trade Controls, the Queensland Biodiscovery Act, and JCU's Foreign Interference Policy.

Your attention to detail and commitment to confidentiality will shine as you provide top-notch administrative support, ensuring document accuracy, currency, and alignment with legislation. Collaborating closely with researchers, you'll be the go-to resource for ensuring their submissions meet all regulatory and policy requirements.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE 

  • Relevant degree qualifications and experience or a combination of education and work experience
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse and interpret regulatory guidelines and/or professional principles.
  • Proven knowledge of the principles of responsible research conduct coupled with a sound understanding of the principles of procedural fairness and other regulatory requirements.
  • Significant critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills to judge shifting priorities and conflicting deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as a member of a team in a high-volume environment under broad supervision.
  • Well-developed written and oral communication skills including interpersonal skills
