We currently have the opportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced Transnational Education (TNE) Quality Manager in the Education Management team, on a full-time basis.

Reporting to the Dean of Studies and the Associate Dean of Studies (dotted line report), the Transnational Education Quality Manager ensures that The College’s TNE network follows best practices in meeting TEQSA threshold standards.

TNE programs inherently pose extremely high levels of risk to the College due to their commercial independence and the influence of local contexts and external influences. The Transnational Education Quality Manager is responsible for developing and implementing risk mitigation strategies and programs that ensure that UTS College TNE achieve the same level of quality outcomes as the UTS College in Sydney.

About the role
This position is responsible for:

  • Stakeholder engagement
    • Building and maintaining effective relationships with academic managers and key personnel (onshore and offshore)
    • Collaborating with the Partnerships & Growth team on current and future transnational offerings
  • Leadership
    • Offering leadership to offshore Academic managers/Directors
    • Assisting in and support the early set up of new transnational centres
    • When required, acting as the Course manager for short periods (up to 1 month)
  • Quality assurance
    • Overseeing the development, operationalisation, and adherence to TNE quality frameworks, policies, procedures and manuals across all TNE centres
    • Chairing TNE Quality Management Committees and provide reports on the operation of academic programs offered transnationally to the Academic Board and appropriate Committees
    • Assisting in the documentation of local procedures for partners, ensuring clarity of expectations and responsibilities
    • Delivering training and professional development short courses and workshops for offshore teachers (and other staff)
    • Ensuring appropriate and effective provision of student services offshore
    • Ensuring the integrity of application, enrolment and assessment documentation offshore (including security, version control, moderation and standardisation)
    • Ensuring offshore learning & teaching facilities meet UTS College standards for the delivery of the model of learning
  • Process, systems and reporting management
    • Articulating and implementing communication and reporting plans with partners
    • Conducting cyclical audits of partner programs and measuring compliance against quality assurance frameworks
    • In collaboration with Education Services, providing academic leadership on
      • Systems and processes for scheduling, preparation and distribution of teaching and assessment materials
      • Preparation and documentation for Results Ratification Meetings and Quality Management Committees
  • Contribute to other Education projects, committees and offshore marketing initiatives as required

About you (selection criteria)
To succeed in this role you must have:

  • An undergraduate degree relevant to UTS College Academic Programs AND a master’s degree in a related academic discipline or Education
  • Knowledge of education quality management and reporting, and the development of academic policies & procedures
  • Knowledge and experience in contemporary best practice higher education delivery
  • Resilience and optimism in the face of challenges
  • Ability to promote organisational changes through words, actions and priorities and supports others through change or disruption
  • Capability to set clear targets for self and others, provide feedback on performance and build accountability
  • Efficiency in managing deadlines, varying workloads and changing priorities
  • Strong cross-cultural competency
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Advanced negotiation and stakeholder management skills
  • A positive attitude and an interest in self-development and continuous learning

Preferred skills & qualifications:

  • A post-graduate research degree (preferred)
  • A language other than English (preferred)
  • Formally accredited Quality Assurance training (preferred)
