The Victorian Government has awarded the $26.5 million tender for the construction of the new Surf Coast Secondary College in Torquay to Ireland Brown Constructions.

State Education Minister Martin Dixon announced that construction is due to begin immediately.

The school will include middle and senior complexes, as well as an indoor sports facility. Students will also have access to nearby Surf Coast Shire sports facilities, through a joint-use agreement with the Shire.

The school will be located on a 5.5 hectare site next to the Surf Coast Shire’s Community and Civic Precinct on the Surf Coast Highway.
