A team of up to 50 researchers and research students, led by internationally renowned sleep researcher Drew Dawson, has left the University of South Australia to join Central Queensland University (CQU).

"We are delighted to announce the appointment of renowned human factors and safety researcher Professor Drew Dawson as the University's inaugural Engaged Research Chair," CQU Vice-Chancellor & President Professor Scott Bowman said.

"Professor Dawson - the first in a series of Engaged Research Chairs for CQ University - will head up our new Human Factors and Safety Research Centre. He and his extensive research team will join CQ University this month.”

CQU has secured the $7 million deal with the construction of a new bespoke research facility designed specifically for Professor Dawson and his team.
