Lifeline Australia is a national suicide prevention charity providing all Australians experiencing emotional distress with access to 24-hour crisis support and suicide prevention services. They are committed to empowering Australians to be suicide-safe through connection, compassion and hope. This is achieved through a partnership of over 10,000 committed volunteers and their member centres in communities across the nation.
Lifeline Australia Ltd (LLA) is located in Sydney, with small teams of dedicated staff employed to lead funding and corporate relations activities, and to provide the design, technical infrastructure and governance of services across Lifeline’s member network.
LLA recently embarked on an exciting transformation journey, guided by an ambitious strategic plan. The 2024-2027 Strategic Plan will see enhancements across services, technology and workforce to bring about better outcomes and a more accessible and flexible support system for help-seekers
Role
We are seeking a skilled Learning Designer with a passion for creating impactful learning programs to join our organisation on a 6-month contract. You will focus on the design and development of innovative learning solutions for our Digital (Text and Chat) Service. You will be responsible for building strong stakeholder relationships to gain a deep understanding of the current state and make recommendations for future improvements.
Responsibilities
- Review current learning programs and identify gaps for future improvements. Conduct research and analysis to ensure future programs are relevant and effective.
- Develop and design training sessions, e-learning modules, and multimedia learning solutions for both face-to-face and digital environments, including self-paced learning.
- Prepare coaching packs, quick reference guides, and other support materials to enhance the learning experience.
- Ensure a detailed understanding of crisis support-related learning objectives, applying these to course design and outcomes.
About You
Background Requirements:
- Strong experience designing both face-to-face and digital learning programs, with exposure to various training modes, including self-paced learning.
- Experience developing training programs for contact centres or remote workforces, including onboarding and placements.
- Proven experience in curriculum design, program development, analysis, and research for building comprehensive learning solutions.
Knowledge and Experience Requirements:
- Demonstrated experience in content and assessment development as a learning designer.
- Knowledge and experience in applying adult learning theories and digital learning principles.
- Knowledge of competency-based training.
- Experience developing learning solutions using Articulate 360 (Rise and Storyline).
- Ability to work with subject matter experts to scope, design, and develop learning solutions.
- Proficiency with learning management systems (e.g., Moodle).
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple deadlines.
