Early Years' Education Assistant 

Part-Time (0.53 FTE), Fixed Term 2018

We are currently seeking an energetic and experienced Education Assistant to work part-time with students in our Early Years' (Pre-Kindergarten - Year 2) learning environment in 2018. You will work as part of the classroom team to support all students, including those with special needs. Please note that previous qualifications and / or experience in supporting children with special needs is an essential prerequisite.

You will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Relevant qualifications as an Education Assistant; 
  • Qualifications in Special Education (ie Certificate IV), and completion of PART course are both highly desirable;
  • Demonstrated experience in supporting children with special needs in an Early Years' (PK-2) learning environment is essential;
  • Senior First Aid Certificate, or willingness to complete your Senior First Aid Certificate prior to the school year;
  • Demonstrated sensitivity and care to students' needs and capabilities;
  • The ability to promote an environment of dynamic, active and genuine learning;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build effective working relationships with staff, students, parents, general public and professional networks;
  • Strong written and oral communication skills;
  • The ability to work collaboratively as a team member and independently;
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills; and 
  • A National Police Clearance (less than 12 months old) and a current Working with Children Check card.

The successful candidate will also have the flexibility to work approximately four hours per day, across Monday to Thursday each week.
