The Opportunity

Join our team as a Level A Research-Only Academic within the Monash Proteomics & Metabolomics Platform. This critical position focuses on developing, refining and utilising single-cell proteomics methodologies. You will collaborate with a cross-disciplinary team and optimize various aspects of ultra-sensitive proteomic experiments, from experimental design to bioinformatics analysis.

Key responsibilities include conducting research under limited supervision, establishing and refining proteomic techniques, designing and conducting experiments, and contributing to conference papers and publications. You will also provide advice to postgraduate students and participate in relevant meetings.

Key Selection Criteria

  • Doctoral qualification in Mass Spectrometry, Proteomics, Biochemistry, or a closely related field.
  • Experience operating LC-MS/MS instruments and qualitative and quantitative proteomic approaches.
  • Strong knowledge of proteomic sample preparation and data analysis.
  • Knowledge of bioinformatics; Python/Matlab programming skills are a plus.
  • Excellent analytical and manuscript preparation skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines with exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively and independently in a research setting.
