We offer an exciting opportunity for a Postdoc Research Fellow in Demography / Epidemiology($68,350 - $91,332) to join our world-leading institution at James Cook University (JCU). A full time, fixed term appointment to 7 March 2025, this position is based at the Murtupuni Centre for Rural and Remote Health in Mount Isa.
What you can accomplish in the Role
The Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Demography/Epidemiology will initiate and conduct research in longitudinal study of humanitarian migrants' settlement in Australia. You will contribute to developing an active research group by preparing oral and written reports of findings (including academic publications) and the generation of additional external research income. Working with support, guidance and/or direction from more senior research staff you will develop your research expertise through the pursuit of defined research projects relevant to the field of research.
What you will bring to the Role
Having recently competed your PhD in a related discipline, you will have experience in multivariate and longitudinal analysis, particularly from a causal standpoint. With the ability to work independently, as well as part of a team, you will work effectively in a collegial manner with an interdisciplinary research team to meet competing deadlines. Your ability to liaise effectively and engage with relevant academic, community and professional groups will see you take your career to the next level.
