Sports and Leisure Contracts Lead

  • Lead the management and administration of contracts for sports, aquatics and leisure facilities 

As the Sports & Leisure Contracts Lead you will be responsible for managing the contracts and performance of WaterMarc Aquatic & Leisure Centre, Macleod Recreation and Fitness, Watsonia Pool, Ivanhoe Golf Club, Chelsworth Park lease. You will also take a lead in the planning, development and implementation of range of strategies, policies, reviews and projects across leisure, sport and recreation facilities. 

This exciting role presents an opportunity to undertake negotiations and effectively influence contractors, Council staff and community in pursuit of Healthy and Active community objectives. You will have a passion and experience in contract management, administration and sound knowledge of trends, current issues and future opportunities in the sports and leisure facilities industry. You will be the primary contact between Council, the facilities and contracted partners, ensuring performance asset maintenance, risk and safety, customer experience are addressed and managed effectively.

Key responsibilities:

  • Contract performance management and administration
  • Advocacy and Partnerships 
  • Facility development & project management
  • Represent Council at relevant local and regional network meetings

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in sport, recreation, business management or other related discipline
  • Previous experience in performance and contract management within community leisure facilities
  • Well-developed project management skills for coordination of capital works projects and maintenance programs
  • Experience in leisure facility planning and development
  • Demonstrated experience in managing relationships with contractors, service providers, external stakeholders
  • Well developed strategic management and business planning skills
