The Opportunity
- Develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders of UNSW
- $110,073-$119,132 (depending on experience) + 17% super + leave loading
- Hybrid/Flexible working including 9-day fortnight option available
- Full-time (35 hours week), Continuing (permanent role)
Research Grants and Contracts (RGC) within the Division of Research and Enterprise contributes to UNSW Sydney’s research performance and profile via the effective management of the University’s research income.
The Senior Compliance Officer delivers high-quality customer focused services to the University in the pre-award team (including all competitive grant and tender applications). Working closely with the Senior Manager, colleagues from the Research Strategy Office and across the Research Grants and Contracts teams, you’ll take a lead role in providing research funding application support to UNSW researchers and assist the Senior Manager in building a coherent and effective team. The role of Senior Compliance Officer reports to the Senior Manager, Pre-Award and has no direct reports.
The Organisation
RGC is the key link between UNSW researchers, executive and funding agencies such as the NHMRC, ARC, other government and non-government research funders, philanthropic competitive grant funders and industry partners. The RGC teams are a crucial component in the university’s ongoing strategy to increase knowledge exchange and towards meeting the Strategy 2025 aims..

About the successful applicant
You can demonstrate your experience and expertise in high-level research funding, ability to provide advice to UNSW Researchers and professional staff, and program/project and time management skills.
You’ll also be able to demonstrate your contribution to continual improvement of workflows, service delivery and quality assurance by proactively suggesting improvements and implementing solutions as required.
