Education Advisor

 

What’s on Offer 

Located in FRV’s Burnley complex this role as an Education Advisor will be responsible for the Fire Education programs delivered in Victorian schools to ensure that they are contemporary and aligned to the Victorian curriculum. 

Being community focused, the role will involve the development and delivery of programs targeted at reducing the fire safety risks identified within the Victorian community.  

You are a positive and people orientated person and these attributes will support you effectively working within a dedicated team, in a role that suits a highly organised individual, with exceptional attention to detail and people skills.    To ensure maximum program participation, you will align school-based education programs with the Victorian Curriculum standards, ensuring seamless integration and relevance to educational objectives and outcomes, delivered via the latest pedagogical principals. 

Part of your remit is to coordinate the Seniors Fire Safety education program, including recruitment of presenters, development of engaging and informative program content, and evaluation of the program and presenters. You will also be required to increase participation through proactive engagement with seniors groups.

As new risks are identified you will develop innovative and effective education programs aimed at reducing community fire risks, utilising research-based strategies, and best practices.  You are driven by your community focus and enjoy working in a supportive team who can guide as you assimilate to your new role at FRV.  

You are an experienced education professional that works well under pressure and makes a genuine and sustained contribution to your team, colleagues across FRV and the Victorian community.

To be successful in this position, you will have: 

  • Bachelor of Education (Primary school) or above 
  • Experience in teaching: Science, Technology, Engineering or Maths (STEM) (preferred)
  • A passion for students’ learning and achievements 
  • Demonstrated teaching in a Primary school including in a leadership role
  • Demonstrated experience in working with students with learning disabilities who attend specialist schools (preferred)
