The Federal Government has officially opened a new medical training centre in Blacktown, Western Sydney.

The Federal Government has contributed $20.6 million to build the University of Western Sydney’s Blacktown Mt Druitt Clinical School.

The school has a capacity for around 150 medical students who will train at both the school and at the Mt Druitt Hospital.

The school provides on-site education and research facilities for medical students including a library, theatrette, seminar rooms, a laboratory and space for clinical trials.

Students will also have access to equipment such as human patient simulators, a training mannequin used for teaching CPR and an infant patient simulator.
