 Student Support Officer- Beyond the Broncos & Indigenous Girls Academy

 

  • Fixed Term from January to December 2021
  • Part-Time 2-5 days per week during school terms 


The Brisbane Broncos are currently seeking candidates for Student Support Officers in positions located in the Redlands, Logan, Ipswich and Tweed Heads Regions. 

Your role will be to support our Beyond the Broncos Girls Academy Program and Beyond the Broncos program by providing mentoring and support services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students to assist in engagement, retention and academic progress of students in years 7 to 12.

Key Criteria

To be considered for this role, candidates must address the following criteria in their application:

  • Enthusiastic professional with relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in
    Education, Youth or Community Service.
  • A qualification in Career Guidance and Community Services or Youth Work and experience in a similar role is desirable.
  • Previous experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander youth with current knowledge of the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community, and an established relationship or ability to engage effectively and seek advice.
  • Knowledge of the current education, employment and social challenges faced by young people.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, coupled with strong administrative and reporting skills.
  • Strong sense of respect for confidentiality involving participants and team members.
  • Current Driver’s Licence.
  • Current Blue Card (Paid).
