V Swans is the community development division of the Swans Districts Football Club committed to providing business and government with solutions for sustainable community development using our Active Education Model.

ABOUT THE REACH PROGRAM

The V Swans REACH program is a new initiative and will be offered to female students from Year 7 – Year 12 at Hedland Senior High School (HSHS) in 2020. The program will seek to engage 120 female students in the first 12 months and look to grow that number over the lifespan of the program.  The program will be offered to female students as an additional service and support network for students to access before school, during recess and lunch and afterschool hours. 

THE ROLE

The successful applicant will lead the implementation of the REACH program at Hedland Senior High School (HSHS).   Under the direction of the V Swans Community Business Development Manager the successful applicant will lead planning and operational meetings as well as day to day management of the program to ensure the outcomes of the program are achieved.  The successful applicant will be responsible for managing and leading a team of three REACH Program Officers as well as being the key liaison between the program and HSHS.

The V Swans REACH team will empower and motivate female students and help close the gap in areas such as health, education, employment, family, culture and community. The REACH team will be responsible for providing a number of different opportunities before, during and after school hours, based on behaviour, attendance and continuous improvement at school and within the community. 

Staff members will provide encouragement and support to female students within the program, having an emphasis on positive health and wellbeing and attendance to mainstream classes. REACH program staff will work closely with key school staff and classroom teachers to ensure that students are engaged and being proactive during class time. 

REQUIREMENTS / SKILLS

To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements:

  • Good oral, written and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to establish and maintain effective and collaborative working relationships.
  • Effective planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities within timelines.
  • Good research, conceptual and analytical skills, including the ability to identify problems and provide solutions.
  • Skills and experience in working with individual or small groups of students experiencing difficulties.
  • Knowledge of the youth sector, particularly local organisations and services.

WHAT WE WILL OFFER

  • Salary ranging $75,000-$85,000 (plus super) depending on experience

ELIGIBILITY
