About the opportunities in Aerospace, Mechanical and Mechatronic Engineering 

The School of Aerospace, Mechanical and Mechatronic Engineering at the University of Sydney is seeking applications for several academic positions at all levels and in all areas Aerospace, Mechanical and Mechatronic Engineering, with a preference for candidates in the following priority areas.

  • Aerospace Engineering: aerodynamics, avionics, space engineering, flight dynamics, navigation and control, rapid prototyping and unmanned aerial vehicles
  • Mechanical Engineering: mechanical design, dynamics, micro-machines, sustainable engineering, renewables, systems engineering
  • Materials Engineering: additive manufacturing, materials synthesis, energy materials (storage/capture), functional materials
  • Mechatronic Engineering: surgical robotics, mechanism design, robotic planning, grasping and manipulation

About the opportunities in Biomedical Engineering

The School of Aerospace, Mechanical and Mechatronic Engineering at the University of Sydney is also seeking applications for several academic positions at all levels and in all areas of Biomedical Engineering. A preference for candidates in biomechanics, biomechatronics, proteomics/genomics, lab on chip, biomedical instrumentation, neuro-engineering but candidates with strong track records in all areas of biomedical engineering are encouraged to apply to help broaden our research profile in this area.

About you
Successful candidates will be expected to develop an independent research program, making internationally recognized advances on problems of importance, engage in collaborations within and outside the University, participate in both undergraduate and graduate teaching and curriculum development, and contribute to the working of the School and the University.

The School is especially interested in candidates who increase the diversity of its academic staff profile.  The level of appointment will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Successful applicants should expect an internationally competitive salary, a generous start-up package and a first-class research environment.

Term and remuneration

Successful candidates will be offered a continuing (permanent) appointment, subject to the completion of a satisfactory probation and confirmation period for new appointees. A competitive remuneration and startup package will be negotiated dependant of level on appointment.
