Hub Manager

Join us and play a key management role in the establishment of Southern Queensland and Northern New South Wales (SQNNSW) Drought Resilience Adoption and Innovation Hub.

The Southern Queensland and Northern New South Wales (SQNNSW) Drought Resilience Adoption and Innovation Hub, a flagship of the multi-billion-dollar Future Drought Fund, is one of eight national Drought Resilience Adoption and Innovation Hubs. With an investment of $10 million from the Australian Government in the University of Southern Queensland led Hub over four years, and more than $10 million contribution from Partners, the Hub will be headquartered in Toowoomba with nodes in Stanthorpe, Roma, Longreach, Lismore, Armidale and Narrabri.

We are seeking to appoint a highly experienced project management leader to provide high-level strategic, operational, and project management assistance to the Hub Director and, more broadly, across the Drought Resilience Adoption and Innovation Hub activities. As Hub Manager, you will build and maintain strong professional relationships with stakeholders and lead the development of complex proposals and project management functions. You will apply your strategic, innovative thinking and highly developed communication and relationship management skills to lead a comprehensive team of experts. Together with the team, you will help enhance drought preparedness and community resilience outcomes, improved drought decision making for pasture, and livestock management capabilities across regions.

By working together, we can ensure the future growth and success of our regions and communities, in the face of the ever-present threat of drought. Connecting research expertise and on-the-ground knowledge throughout the region, the Hub will improve community resilience and be a driver of co-designed and demand-driven drought resilience research, development, extension, adoption, and commercialisation (RDEA&C).  The nodes will provide a local shopfront within the community, facilitating the application of proven drought-resilience research on the ground. This approach will lead to improved innovation and adoption across agriculture, small business, industry, and the community.

Based in Toowoomba, this is a full-time, fixed term appointment until 30 June, 2024.

Applications close Sunday 23rd May, 2021.
