Director, Government Relations

The Role

  • Fixed Term (5 years), Full Time
  • Remuneration package $152,682 to $190,853
  • Bathurst, Canberra or Wagga Wagga

You will be responsible for the University's government relations program with the aim of developing and strengthening the University's relations with key government, peak bodies and regional stakeholders to support the achievement of the University Strategy and promote a positive and influential public reputation for the University.

To be successful you will have:

  • Post Graduate Degree in communication, public relations, political science or a relevant field
  • The ability to research complex policy issues
  • In-depth understanding of Federal and State policies affecting the higher education sector

The Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research, Development and Industry) encompasses the Research Office, the Office of Global Engagement and Partnerships, the Office of Indigenous Affairs, the four University Research Centres plus a number of strategic agendas including ethics and compliance, commercialisation of research, the AgriPark and contribution to the University Strategy. The DVC RDI, in collaboration with the Pro Vice-Chancellor Global Engagement (Research and Partnership), stewards the development of collaborative connections between CSU and industry, end-users and stakeholders to strengthen and expand the research agenda. Closer strategic partnerships are sought based on the internationally competitive nature and relevance of CSU research and the opportunity to provide Higher Degree by Research students with a more comprehensive training.

The Office of Government and Community Relations is also response for the University's Media and Social Media streams which work to promote CSU with positive stories in regional, national and international media. The Office also actively manage CSU's central social media channels including the development and implementation of a social media strategy, policy, procedure and guidelines.
