Swinburne University of Technology has an ambitious goal of growth in research performance and impact, as set out in its 2020 Research and Innovation Strategy. As part of this agenda, the university has plans to double its research income by 2020. In order to support these objectives, Swinburne seeks an experienced research management professional to drive and support operational performance in research funding and contracts administration. As our Associate Director, Research Funding and Operations, you will lead a team of research management professionals (~4-6FTE) that support our three Faculties. With your natural affinity for collaboration, you will build relationships with research sponsors and internal stakeholders to oversee all pre-award and post-award grants management and contract administration within Swinburne Research.

To be successful in the role, you will have:

• Relevant qualifications with extensive research management experience, education or training.
• Outstanding people and team leadership skills.
• Demonstrated experience in proactively managing major grant funding schemes (e.g. Australian Research Council) or similar competitive programs with the goal of submitting high quality, competitive applications.
