We have recently launched Swinburne’s Research and Innovation Strategy, which charts the course to deliver research excellence and impact by 2020. This builds on our international reputation for research excellence, innovation and impact through active research engagement with industry, business and the community.

We are seeking experienced professionals to be accountable for leading the development of research-focused collaboration and engagement across the university.  Working with the research community, the Business Development Managers will lead the development of research-focused business collaboration and working across disciplines.  The positions will be responsible for growing research funding, new partnerships, research translation to directly support targets established in the Strategy. The role will work closely within a team of experienced industry engagement and research development professionals within Swinburne. A primary focus is to support the partnership goals and funding targets of the five Swinburne Research Institutes.

Skills and experience required
To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate substantial commercial acumen, extensive experience and track record in one or more defence, ICT, cybersecurity, FinTech, government, health, NFP, community or related sectors, with a substantial record of success and hands-on development of high value research funding, translation and commercialisation opportunities or other relevant initiatives.  The successful candidate will have highly developed networking and negotiation skills with a can-do attitude and a strong desire to make a difference.
