The University of New England’s Centre for Agribusiness offers bold, creative and sustainable solutions to big questions of food industry performance, global food security and best management practice. It is a platform from which we are able to reimagine data to facilitate innovation in the sector.
The Centre is pleased to be able to extend our capacity through the offering of a 3 year post-doctoral research fellowship to begin in 2017. The focus will be to pursue research consistent with the themes of the Centre:
- Future food and fibre
- Value chain information
This 3-year position, while located within the Centre for Agribusiness in the UNE Business School, will have extensive links to UNE’s SMART Region Incubator, School of Environmental and Rural Science, School of Science and Technology, School of Behavioural, Cognitive and Social Sciences and Agricultural Business Research Institute.
About the role
Working under the research supervision of the Centre Director you will collaborate with other UNE researchers in a multidisciplinary partnership to deliver high quality research outputs. You will have the opportunity to apply innovative approaches and develop new knowledge for commercial agriculture and will be active in attracting research funding from a variety of sources.
You will be proactive in the establishment and development of linkages to firms and industries to promote research partnerships, as well as working locally, nationally and internationally in the promotion, expansion and improvement of the competitiveness and performance of Australian agribusiness.
Skills & Experience
To be successful you should have:
- experience with commercial Australian agriculture;
- a recent PhD in a related field;
- Highly developed skills in data collection, data management & econometric analysis;
- substantial research capabilities through publication;
- excellent communication skills; and
- A proven capacity to work effectively in teams (including virtual).
