The formation of the College of Health and Medicine aims to provide the optimal model to boost health and medical research performance and enable excellence in training health professionals, which together will transform health outcomes for the Tasmanian community.
The School of Health Science specialises in Nursing, Allied Health Science and Rural Health. The school is seeking to appoint Lecturers in Nursing to join the dynamic team in the School of Health Sciences, building capacity in evidence-based nursing research and pedagogy. Appointees will deliver high impact research outcomes aligned with the College’s research themes and have a learning and teaching focus on the preparation of pre-registration and post-graduate students of nursing.
The Lecturers in Nursing will:
- Undertake high-quality research of national standing, secure external competitive and other funding, publish research findings and successfully supervise research higher degree students
- Make a significant contribution towards the teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate contemporary nursing curricula, including unit coordination, evaluation and utilising emerging and online technology
- Actively engage in fostering collegial relationships within the University and with all School of Health Science stakeholders
Applicants will hold a PhD in a relevant discipline and registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA), together with demonstrated clinical knowledge of contemporary nursing theory and practice, and the capacity to translate and apply this to curriculum development. A strong record of and continuing commitment to research that has achieved national or international recognition for contribution to the field of nursing or health is essential.
These appointments are 1.0 FTE continuing (tenured) and located in Launceston, Hobart, Rozelle or Darlinghurst. Appointment to these roles will be at Academic Level B and will have a total remuneration package of up to $130,572 comprising a base salary within the range of $93,771 to $111,600 plus 17% superannuation. An attractive relocation package may also be negotiated with the successful applicant.
