We are currently seeking applications from suitably qualified Proposals Design Engineer to join our office in Newcastle. The Proposals Design Engineer is responsible for accurately sizing, estimating and selling process equipment, and other items of process plants, to domestic and international clients.

In addition, the Proposals Design Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Reviewing client specifications and requirements and complete bids and proposals that meet client needs
  • Preparation of cost estimates in line with the company’s technical and commercial requirements
  • Preparation of technical and commercial bid evaluations and clarification responses
  • Use and maintenance of the company’s contract quotation databases and quote management systems

To be considered for this position you will need to demonstrate:

  • Degree in Mechanical or Process / Chemical Engineering
  • At least one to five years of professional experience in design of equipment and turnkey plant for the mining industry.
  • Proven track record in the detailed sizing, estimating and layout of turnkey or modular plant.
  • Previous experience in metallurgical and mineral or coal processing plant, piping design, chute design
  • Proficiency in Autocad 2D and 3D design packages, in order to develop quickly overall plant layout and PFD and P&ID drawings.
  • A proactive and positive attitude focused on the development of the Company’s business and the support of fellow staff throughout pre-award and execution, working cooperatively and constructively within a culturally diverse team environment.
  • Strong written and spoken communication skills
  • Knowledge of chemical / process design and simulation programs
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office programs such as Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Focus on quality and provision of value to the Company and our clients
