About the Research Office

The Research Office is a central unit within the portfolio of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research) and supports research activities across UTS in partnership with the faculty research offices and other support units, including developing researcher capability, identifying and accessing research funding, contracts, research stewardship, ethics, integrity, research risk management, post-award, IP management, translation, commercialisation, industry partnerships and research data intelligence.

The team is seeking to recruit a Manager, Research Integrity and Governance to join the team on a continuing basis.

About the role

The Manager, Research Integrity and Governance provides strategic and operational support for the university in the areas of research integrity, policy, risk and compliance.

Reporting to the Executive Manager, research Stewardship, this position plays a key role in leading, managing and supporting research integrity at UTS, including championing a responsible research culture, and providing training, advice and support to the UTS research community. The role is also responsible for managing and investigating concerns and complaints relating to potential breaches of research integrity by staff.

 While every day can be different in a role such as this, key, typical responsibilities include:

  • Provide advice and support to members of the UTS research community on issues relating to research integrity;
  • Lead and manage the timely case management of research integrity complaints in accordance with the Australian Code for the Responsible Conduct of Research;
  • Develop and implement awareness, education and training campaigns for research staff and HDR students;
  • Supervise the research risk officer in relation to oversight of the management of key research risks;
  • Lead the review and development of the research policy framework.

Remuneration & Benefits

Base Salary Range: $126,412 to $132,430 pa (HEW 9)

This role attracts 17% superannuation (pension) in addition to the base salary.

This position is full-time and appointment will be made on a continuing basis.
