The key purpose of the UTS Graduate Research School (GRS) is to produce the next generation of researchers and graduates who can lead in their profession and in their industries. The structure and work of the school is based on three strategic priorities: growth and capacity; research quality; and researcher development.
 
The Graduate Research Officer provides high quality service and support for HDR students and the UTS research community through the effective and client focused administration of HDR admissions, scholarships, collaborative research degrees, candidature management and support, researcher development activities, governance and compliance.
 
In this role, your day to day your duties will include:
 
• Assessing and processing applications for admission and scholarships, including full documentation and qualification checks
• Processing HDR candidature forms and requests from students and supervisors
• Following up with applicants, candidates and faculties on documentation and compliance matters
• Ensuring that HDR applications and candidature management requests are entered accurately in the student system (CASS) and related research management systems
• Providing advice and guidance to the UTS Research Community on all aspects of HDR administrative procedures, Scholarship conditions, UTS rules and policies
• Ensuring email, phone, online and face to face enquiries are responded to in an efficient, courteous and timely manner
 
To be successful in securing this role you will have:
 
• Demonstrated ability to interpret policy and provide advice to a range of client groups in an appropriate manner
• Excellent time management and organizational skills, including the ability to prioritise workload and to meet deadlines in order to complete tasks and achieve objectives
• Demonstrated ability to produce work with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in a high volume environment
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
• Demonstrated capacity to provide a high quality client-focused customer service
• High level interpersonal, negotiation and relationship building skills with the ability to maintain good collaborative working relationships with a diverse range of people and networks
 
Remuneration & Benefits
 
Base Salary Range: $69,663 to $79,695 pa (HEW 5)
 
This role attracts 17% superannuation (pension) in addition to the base salary.

This position is full-time and appointment will be made on a continuing basis.
