The NSW Defence Innovation Network brings together NSW Defence businesses, NSW Universities, State Government and the Defence Science and Technology Group (DST Group), with the primary aim of making NSW businesses more competitive and innovative and able to better respond to the national Defence Research and Development objectives as outlined in the Australian Department of Defence 2016 Defence Industry Policy Statement by harnessing the significant research capabilities available from NSW universities.

We are seeking to appoint an experienced manager to take responsibility for management and administration of the Network and to support and drive external engagement, workshops and events. You will manage the day-to-day operations of the Network and liaison between stakeholders. You will provide valuable contribution to the Network through administrative direction and support, including proposal review and submission, project establishment and -management, reporting and ethics support. Key to success in this role will be your strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to develop and maintain effective stakeholder relationships relevant to the Network.

You will bring to this role:

  • High-level skills in large scale and complex project management with demonstrated ability to develop and manage budgets, activity planning, outcome reporting and evaluation
  • Demonstrated ability to connect and work with industry, with a preference for the high-tech and/or defence sector
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills and ability to contribute to continuous improvement in operations, processes and service delivery
  • Proven ability to be innovative, adaptable, flexible and commercially-responsive in an environment of change and competing priorities.

You will have a strong client focus and experience in providing excellent service in a high-pressure environment.

Remuneration & Benefits

Base Salary Range: $97,367 to $110,890 pa (HEW 8)

This role attracts 9.5%superannuation in addition to the base salary.

This position is full-time and appointment will be made on a fixed term basis for 12 months.
