About the Faculty

The Faculty of Education and Arts is one of four faculties at Federation University Australia, a dual sector, regionally headquartered, multi-campus university. The Faculty comprises the School of Education and the School of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences. The School of Education has a long history and is highly regarded for its innovative teacher education programs in early childhood, primary and secondary education as well as coursework Masters and Higher Degree by Research. The School has forged strong partnerships with school clusters to collaboratively design, deliver, and conduct research into teacher education programs with a particular emphasis on regional settings.

About the Position

You will have an international scholastic reputation, be able to provide academic leadership, research excellence in teacher education and take a leading role in career development of staff. You will also make substantial contributions to the design, delivery and development of teacher education programs and provide high level research leadership developing a strategic, collaborative research program in teacher education.

About the Successful Applicant

As the successful applicant you will have a proven ability to engage external partners and stakeholders, attract significant external funding, and make a major contribution to policy and practice in teacher education. You will have an international record of achievement in research and the capacity to lead a major, collaborative research program in teacher education, as well as a record of recruiting and supervising masters and doctoral students. Interpersonal skills and the understanding of the needs of diverse students are key requirements of this role.

Salary

The salary is within the Academic Level E range $164,811 p.a. plus 17% superannuation effective 28 June 2015.
