About the opportunity

The School of Biomedical Sciences & Pharmacy is one of UON's most research-intensive schools, currently being ranked in the top three in terms of external research funding. Our researchers apply cutting edge technology and relevant disease models to address important questions and accelerate knowledge transfer.

The School is seeking an enthusiastic early career teaching/research academic who has the ability to integrate their teaching and research experience with the curriculum of the BPharm Honours program. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Attracting competitive external grant funding and promoting research capacity by actively participating in research collaborations in field of expertise.
  • Effective co-supervision of research higher degree students.
  • Generating quality publications consistent with the School.
  • Actively participating in the teaching programs of the School.
  • Supervision of the program of study of honours students engaged in either a program of coursework or research program.

The successful applicant will be required to take up this full-time continuing position at the start of 2018.

Skills and experience

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A PhD in the field of clinical pharmacy or pharmacy practice.
  • Eligibility for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency, and demonstrable knowledge of the Australian Health System.
  • Proven extensive experience in curriculum design and teaching of pharmacy students (undergraduate and postgraduate).
  • Current or recent experience conducting successful pharmacy research projects (clinical and practice-based).
  • Demonstrated strong track record of publications in journals related to pharmacy/medicines.

Academic Level B - $95,351 to $113,231 per annum plus 17% superannuation.
