The Gladys M Brawn Memorial Fellowship Scheme was established in 1995 to provide fellowships to scholars who are or have demonstrated the potential to become world-recognised academics or clinicians in medicine or in disciplines related to medicine, in order to promote research and study in that particular discipline.
The scheme is a result of the generous donations to The University of Newcastle, through the Faculty of Health and Medicine, from the late Leslie Harold Brawn in memory of his wife Gladys M Brawn. Applications are now invited from outstanding mid-career researchers who are currently funded by non-renewable fellowships (e.g. NHMRC Career Development Fellow) and who, at the end of their current fellowship, are likely to be highly competitive for a renewable research fellowship (e.g. NHMRC Research Fellow). Applicants can be working in any area of research strength within health and medicine. The Gladys M Brawn Memorial Career Development Fellowship will provide:
