The Kirby Institute is a leading global research institute dedicated to the prevention and treatment of infectious diseases. Established in 1986 in response to the then emerging HIV epidemic, the Kirby Institute now contributes to knowledge on a broad range of diseases, including viral hepatitis and sexually transmissible infections.
The Justice Health Research Program conducts research with offenders both incarcerated and in the community. Research interested include domestic violence, general violence, mental illness and sexual violence.
About the role
The position holder is responsible for the management and site coordination of the ReINVEST study including patient management in designated NSW local government areas. The study management will be conducted through the Justice Health Research Program (JHRP). The position will involve direct contact with male offenders on a daily basis, as well as interaction with Legal Aid, Magistrates, Police, Private Legal Practitioners, Community Corrections Staff and Prosecutors. This position will cover outer Western Sydney, including Mount Druitt and surrounds. From time to time coverage may be required at Central Sydney Locations and on rare occasions the Central Coast.
