The Kirby Institute is the major research body in Australia with responsibility for research into the clinical and epidemiological aspects of HIV/AIDS. It is also responsible for research into the clinical and epidemiological aspects of other blood borne viruses and sexually transmissible infections, in particular Viral Hepatitis.
About the role
The Technical Officer is responsible for supporting the programmatic implementation of the point-of care testing strategy for sexually transmissible infections through the TTANGO2 programme. This position involves the coordinated installation and maintenance of specialised health extraction software, which entails liaising with participating health services in remote and regional Australia, negotiating the software’s installation, and supporting the software’s ongoing development and use, including quality of data extraction. The Technical Officer will also be responsible for supporting the regular extraction, cleaning and analysis of data through this software and preparing regular reports for these health services.
