The Project
This is your opportunity to join our AgResearch Reproduction Team in Hamilton. The successful candidate will participate in fundamental research to generate enhanced genotypes in livestock. Specifically, we are developing methods to simultaneously edit and multiply elite dairy embryos. This involves derivation of pluripotent cells from genomically selected embryos, multiplex genome editing and production of animals via embryonic cell transplantation and other advanced reproductive technologies (ART). The project will benefit the development of new biotechnology-based agricultural practices for animal breeding.

As a student with an A Grade average or better the three year studentship offers an annual stipend ($30,000) and covers domestic University fees and operating costs. It is important that the candidate is able to fulfil the requirements for initial and continued enrolment in a PhD programme at University of Auckland.
