The Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute (VCCRI) (www.victorchang.edu.au), located in Darlinghurst, Sydney, Australia, is internationally regarded for excellence in cardiovascular research, with a major focus on molecules and mechanisms. About the Research

Identification and Functional Analysis of Human Congenital Heart Disease-Causing Genes

Professor Sally Dunwoodie, Head of the Chain Reaction Program in Congenital Heart Disease, is seeking a highly motivated Post-doctoral Scientist who wants to forge a career in developmental biology and genetics. Research will focus on the functional analysis of candidate genes causing human congenital heart disease using genetically modified cells, and mouse and/or zebrafish models.

Skills Required

Applicants must hold a PhD. Prior experience with molecular, cellular and developmental biology and microscopy would be extremely valuable, although on-the-job training will also be provided. Expertise in human genetics and bioinformatics would be an advantage.

The salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Salary packaging and superannuation options also apply. This is full-time appointment for up to three years with an annual review and the possibility of renewal.
