This position will strengthen the Centre's existing undergraduate program across diverse areas and to initiate new units in areas of high enrolment potential; develop innovative research projects; identify and apply for external research grants; and build a profile to attract postgraduate research students nationally and internationally.
The successful candidate will have a research specialisation in East European Jewish history, with knowledge of relevant languages, and a broad grounding in Jewish studies which includes Modern Israel and its Middle East context. A primary requirement is track record in research.
This position will provide balance and flexibility to teaching and research capacity within the Australian Centre for Jewish Civilisation. The candidate may also make contributions to administrative service, commensurate with expertise and experience, within the Department and/or School.
