Managed by CSIRO Education and Outreach (CEdO) unit, Generation STEM is a long-term initiative working with industry, government and education sectors in NSW to attract, support, train and retain students in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) career pathways. As part of this initiative, we currently have three programs being delivered throughout NSW:

  • STEM Community Partnerships Program (STEM CPP) – focuses on creating strong partnerships between local schools and industry, with the goal of highlighting local STEM careers and opportunities.
  • Deadly in Generation STEM – aims to increase participation of NSW Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students in STEM, through Culture and on Country.
  • Generation STEM Links – focuses on improving the transition to employment, by providing internships to help tertiary students gain relevant workplace skills, and transition into STEM jobs after graduation.

In this newly created role as the Delivery Lead, you will play a key role in the program implementation and work with various delivery partners & stakeholders to ensure they are prepared and appropriately equipped to deliver every program to the highest of standards and agreed objectives. This will involve contract management, communications and implementing process efficiencies. There’s more to this role! You will work in partnership with the Team Leader and in conjunction with the Program Manager, to also contribute to the leadership and growth of the programs, supporting the design, delivery and management of the program’s strategy, resources & activities, as well as identification of new regions for program growth. You will bring your stakeholder management skills to build and maintain strong and sustainable external relationships, and will also work closely with the Engagement Manager in the team.

Your duties will include:

  • Managing external partner relationships, including managing end-to-end performance of delivery partners and ensuring the achievement of KPIs and contractual milestones.
  • End-to-end contract management including negotiating terms, administering variations and ensuring compliance with CSIRO’s policies and procedures.
  • Ensuring partners are set up with all the tools and resources to deliver on contractual agreements effectively.
  • Overseeing delivery partner implementation of work plans and working collaboratively with partners to navigate issues and opportunities, which will involve facilitating knowledge sharing and connections between internal team and external delivery partners.
  • Ensuring effective service delivery, continuous improvement and that program outcomes are being achieved.
  • Establishing, maintaining and fostering ongoing and culturally respectful relationships with schools, families, communities and other stakeholders.

Salary: AU$102K – AU$111K pa + up to 15.4% superannuation

To be considered you will need:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in STEM, education, commerce/business, project management, or equivalent significant relevant work experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing education service providers and leading effective and efficient work teams to achieve objectives, including exercising sound judgement and providing feedback on performance and support for continuous improvement.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, including experience with negotiation, contract management, and proven ability to facilitate collaboration and establish & maintain strong relationships with a broad range of stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated project management skills, including the ability to prioritise and manage multiple projects with competing deadlines.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with proven experience writing reports for a range of stakeholders and audiences.
  • Highly developed problem solving skills.
  • A valid Australian Class C driver’s licence.

Eligibility

To be eligible to apply for this role, you must be currently residing in Australia as an:

  • Australian/New Zealand Citizen;
  • Australian Permanent Resident; or
  • Australian Temporary Resident, with an existing valid visa and unrestricted work rights for the duration of the term (until December 2023) and no requirement for visa sponsorship from CSIRO. Please note this does not include bridging visas or other visas that are dependent upon the approval of potential future visas.

Appointment to this role is subject to provision of a national police check and may be subject to other security/medical/character requirements. Given the nature of the role, the successful candidate must hold, or be able to obtain, a valid working with children check prior to confirmation of appointment.

To enter a CSIRO site, CSIRO will require you to show proof of vaccination against COVID-19 (or show a valid medical exemption from vaccination). If you are unable to meet this requirement, then you must return a negative result on a Rapid Antigen Test (within 48 hours prior to attending site) and wear a face mask whilst on the CSIRO site. These requirements apply if you are attending a CSIRO site as part of a recruitment process.
