One of the largest science and technology libraries in Australia, CSIRO Library Services delivers innovative information services and resources to support CSIRO research. We provide the tools and training to allow staff to access and use information faster and smarter, and we are a key enabler of CSIRO research outcomes and increased citation rates. Library staff work in a distributed environment across three teams with dedicated technical support:
The Manager, Library Services provides leadership, management (financial and people) and vision to Library Services teams within the Applications, Information Management & Support (AIMS) program. The position is responsible for supporting initiatives in the Information Management and Technology (IMT) Strategy and implementing agreed actions within the Library Plan. Some lifting will be required in accordance with safe work practices. Travel may be required to other CSIRO sites within Australia.
Location: Black Mountain (ACT), Clayton (VIC), Lindfield (NSW), St Lucia (QLD) or Waite (SA).
Salary: AU$117,917 to AU$138,176 per annum (pro-rata for part-time) plus up to 15.4% superannuation

Under CSIRO policy only those who meet all essential criteria can be appointed.
Undergraduate or postgraduate qualification in a relevant area such as Librarianship or Information Management eligible for associate membership of ALIA (Australian Library and Information Association) together with experience managing an academic or research library service.
Track record of innovation and implementing positive change to meet the evolving needs of users, and demonstrated experience in influencing, shaping and delivery of solutions in a complex and transforming environment.
Strong financial management experience including managing budgets and preparing reports.
Understanding of the procurement and management of library resources together with excellent negotiation skills.
Proven ability to motivate and develop a high performing team with a focus of delivering excellent customer service. Capacity to manage a geographically dispersed team.
Record of accomplishment in initiating, managing and delivering on strategic and operational projects.
