CSIRO Postdoctoral Fellowship in optimisation and control of energy systems
The Opportunity
- Are you an early career researcher?
- Take part in research efforts into new energy-network models
- Join CSIRO - Australia's premier science & technology research organisation
CSIRO Early Research Career (CERC) Postdoctoral Fellowships provide opportunities to scientists and engineers who have completed their doctorate and have less than three years of relevant postdoctoral work experience. These fellowships aim to develop the next generation of future leaders of the innovation system.
In this role, you will develop new energy-network models and control methods for the optimal management of variable renewable electricity generation and storage in low-voltage electricity grids. The Fellow will create new science, software and technology to optimally design and operate safe, reliable and efficient lower-emission electricity grids in the future.
- Develop new mathematical models for power flows in low-voltage electricity networks with connected distributed flexible loads, energy-storage systems and PV generators.
- Carry out innovative, impactful research of strategic importance to CSIRO that will, where possible, lead to novel and important scientific outcomes.
- Develop new tools and metrics to quantify trade-offs of different degrees in the decentralisation of grid control mechanisms.
