Full-Time, Fixed-Term Position for 3 Years
The Speech and Language Program in the MARCS Institute in association with the HEARing Cooperative Research Centre (HEARing CRC) is seeking an innovative and forward thinking postdoctoral researcher with high level skills and expertise in the area of first language acquisition.
The MARCS Institute for Brain, Behaviour, and Development is an interdisciplinary research institute of the University of Western Sydney. Research at MARCS is conducted in five interdisciplinary research programs: Speech & Language, Music Cognition & Action, Biomedical Engineering & Neuroscience, Multisensory Processing, and Human Machine Interaction. MARCS is located on the Bankstown, Campbelltown, Kingswood and Parramatta campuses.
The HEARing Cooperative Research Centre (HEARingCRC) is an internationally unique consortium of 22 research, clinical and industry organisations. The HEARing CRC was initially funded 2007-14 through the Commonwealth Government Cooperative Research Centre Programme, and has recently received a five year funding extension to continue developing new devices, therapies and service delivery models and, importantly in this Infant Studies project, to improve the prevention, detection and remediation of hearing disorders.
The successful applicant is expected to be developing a strong international standing and research reputation, based on an excellent research background in psychology, linguistics, and/or cognitive sciences.
This is a full time, fixed term position for three (3) years, based on the Bankstown campus.
Remuneration: Academic Level A (Step 3-4) Salary $81,838 to $86,284 p.a., plus 9.5% Employer Superannuation Contribution, plus Leave Loading.
After 12 months continuous service the appointee may be eligible to receive 17% employer superannuation contribution.
