The School

Mentone Grammar is a K-12 co-educational School. The School is an open-entry school, drawing students from local Bayside and surrounding suburbs. The School became co-educational in 2006 and adopted a unique Together-Apart-Together model of education, which has resulted in continual growth. The School has a strong philosophy of ensuring that students are happy, healthy, and high achieving.

The People & Culture Team (P&C)

We’re a dynamic team at Mentone Grammar, comprising the Director of P&C, a P&C Business Partner, and two P&C Advisors. Although we are a relatively new team, having been established for 16 months, our combined expertise spans diverse backgrounds, including Education, Sporting, Events, and Corporate sectors. Collectively, we bring over 45 years of expertise in the field of P&C. And yes, we are not just P&C professionals - we’re a friendly and sociable bunch with a serious addiction to chocolate!

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a recently formed team, this is an exciting time to come onboard. We are actively working on creating and launching several fresh initiatives, with even more in store for the future.  With this in mind, we are expanding our team by introducing this new position as P&C Administrator. 

Collaborating with the P&C team, this role will be pivotal in delivering vital administrative assistance across the following domains: recruitment, onboarding, induction, and offboarding – and when required across more P&C generalist areas.

The position is ongoing and part-time (0.6), which includes working over the School holidays and ideally spread across 4 days a week, with some flexibility for the right candidate.

ABOUT YOU

  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or equivalent essential
  • Previous experience in an HR or Recruitment Administration role is essential
  • Experience within a School environment is beneficial but not essential
  • Ability to build relationships and rapport with people quickly
  • High attention to detail and organised – pro-active and can use your initiative
  • Advanced computer skills with experience using Recruitment systems (HRIS)
  • Good sense of humour and a team player who is willing to contribute to the broader life of the school
  • Polished verbal and written communication skills 
  • You will be required to obtain a Working with Children Check and National Crime Check if successful
