ABOUT THE ROLE

Ensuring provision of a library service to those who are housebound is a tailored and trusted service that Moreland City Libraries is proud to provide. Currently, we are seeking a Library Technician to engage with the community in providing high quality customer service and contribute to the Home Library Services team, selecting appropriate materials for Home Library Service members, and organising regular deliveries of materials. 

In performing this role some of your key responsibilities will be to engage with our diverse community to provide excellent customer service. Assist with library initiatives to bridge the digital divide. Select materials for Home Library Service members. Undertake initial interview and needs assessments of new Home Library Service members. Maintain Home Library Service records. Undertake basic PC and library equipment troubleshooting. Provide general administrative support.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO PERFORM THIS ROLE 

  • Diploma of Library and Information Services or equivalent
  • Demonstrated high level of computer literacy
  • Good teamwork and communication skills
  • Good organisational and time management skills
  • Excellence in service provision to all sections of the community
  • Demonstrated experience in basic library administration
  • Fluency in a community language is desirable
  • A current Victorian Driver’s Licence and Working with Children Check
