This Postdoctoral Research Fellow will work with one or more of the Melbourne ASTRO-3D CIs: Profs Rachel Webster, Stuart Wyithe, and Michele Trenti.  The Fellow will be expected to undertake an independent research program in one of the main scientific areas of ASTRO-3D, based at the University of Melbourne:
(i) Observational, theoretical or computational studies of the Epoch of Reionization, or
(ii) Exploring the first galaxies with JWST.

Opportunities to collaborate with researchers at other ASTRO-3D nodes are encouraged.  The School of Physics at the University of Melbourne collaborates with researchers around the globe to address some of the most fundamental problems today in astrophysics.  The School has an active theoretical astrophysics group and is involved with experiments on the Murchison Widefield Array radio telescope in Western Australia.  The School is also actively involved in the LHC at CERN, with substantial expertise in neutrino and ‘Beyond the standard model’ physics and is a partner on the LIGO gravitational wave experiment.
