The research Assistant/Fellow will work on a project entitled “Improving the benefits of the renewal of the National Cervical Screening Program for Victorian Aboriginal women” which is funded through the Victorian Cancer Agency the Inaugural grant for Improving Cancer Outcomes for Aboriginal Victorians.

The role will undertake all aspects of the research. This position represents an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic research team in the Centre for Health Policy and conduct research in an area that will shape the future direction of cervical screening programs in Australia and Internationally. You will have experience in the collection and analysis of both qualitative and quantitative data. You will be expected to develop data extraction protocols and analyse health service and registry data. You will be expected to travel within Victoria to work closely with researchers, service providers and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities there. This position will allow the appointee to further develop skills in research involving cultural competency and the delivery of cervical screening. It will also provide the opportunity to develop the capacity of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait islander workforce to improve the cultural capacity of the service delivered.

Applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants are strongly encouraged. The project is a part of an NHMRC Centre for Research excellence and will provide the opportunity for the appointee to engage with a national program of early career research activities.
