About the opportunity
Reporting to the Practice Manager, Digital Application Development, the Senior Analyst Programmer (VARDC) role is responsible for delivering application and integration of IT solutions to the University, specifically for the Veterinary and Animal Research Data Commons (VARDC) platform. The successful candidate will technically be supporting all existing applications within the portfolio and providing leadership to the team on particular areas of technology and processes used in development. The Senior Analyst Programmer will work within a team of developers, to design, develop, analyse, support, and maintain applications. They will encourage and guide team members to maintain their skills and drive continuous improvement and currency of the relevant applications. This will also include:
The Senior Analyst Programmer will be part of the Research Technology group in ICT and work closely with the Sydney School of Veterinary Science to develop the Veterinary and Animal Research Data Commons (VARDC), a platform that will give researchers a single point-of-access to multiple, related systems. The primary one of these will be VetCompass Australia (VCA), which collates electronic patient records (EPRs) from hundreds of veterinary practices nationally and aggregates clinical data for researchers to interrogate. The platform will give researchers optimised access to the data and data cleaning and will mesh clinical records on individual animals with related information, such as pathology reports.
