About the opportunity
This Lecturer in Museum and Heritage Studies position reports to the Chair of Department of Art History and requires an energetic and committed individual to take on academic teaching at postgraduate and undergraduate levels and research responsibilities.
We invite applications for a full-time, 5-Year fixed term position within the Museum and Heritage Studies program. We are particularly interested in applicants whose tertiary teaching experience has included Museum Studies, Art History and Asian Art and who can teach undergraduate as well as postgraduate. While the area of research specialisation is open, we are interested in candidates whose expertise lies in either museum studies or curatorial studies and whose work examines current trends in global, regional, and/or transnational/transcultural debates.

About us
Museum and Heritage Studies has a vibrant postgraduate program and sits in the Department of Art History, a department that is housed in the School of Literature, Arts and Media, within the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. The program is also collocated with the School of Historical and Philosophical Inquiry. The Department of Art History is the leading department of its kind in Australia. The Department was founded in 1967 as part of the Power Institute of Fine Arts. The Department coordinates the Art History program and also co-coordinates the Film Studies and Museum and Heritage Studies programs. The University of Sydney is the only university in New South Wales to teach a breadth and depth of art from across the world and through many centuries, as well as focus on the relationship between the still and moving image.
