  • Full-time 12 months Fixed Term, Base Salary: $92,053 p.a. - $100,287 p.a.  Level 7, plus a generous employer’s contribution to superannuation.  

About the opportunity

Reporting to the Head, Partner Engagement and Outreach, the successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing and communicating professional Chemistry and Geosciences programs to present and promote the Schools of Chemistry and Geosciences, and related concepts to people at all educational levels.

  • Ability to develop and implement professional science programs (specifically relating to Chemistry and Geosciences) for audiences at all levels including primary and high school students and the general public.
  • Strong understanding of core Chemistry concepts at a high level and the ability to understand specialised research activities
  • Undergraduate degree in Science including Chemistry subjects
  • Current NSW driver’s license, C Class
  • Working with Children Check Clearance is a mandatory requirement.

About us

The Faculty of Science is one of six faculties operating within the University and includes the Schools of Chemistry, Geosciences, History and Philosophy of Science, Life and Environmental Sciences, Mathematics and Statistics, Physics, Psychology, and the Sydney School of Veterinary Science. The Faculty stewards a range of research entities including the Sydney Institute of Agriculture and the Lambert Initiative for Cannabinoid Therapeutics, and partners with University-wide research centres including the Charles Perkins Centre (CPC), the Brain and Mind Centre (BMC) and the University of Sydney Nano Institute.

The Partner Engagement & Outreach Unit are responsible for increasing the national and international standing of the Faculty of Science while igniting and fostering scientific curiosity among several key audiences. The team develops and delivers a range of targeted outreach programs to engage key audiences and more broadly raise the profile of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).
